From the moment we got engaged, we knew we couldn’t wait to be married. We had dreams of a large get-together where we could celebrate with all our loved ones from far and wide, but ultimately we didn’t want to put off our marriage for the sake of putting off our wedding. So we’re gathering our family and our local friends in the comfort of our new back yard, and we’re encouraging our loved ones from further afield to tune in digitally. Someday we will all be able to celebrate together in person, but until then, we would love if you would join us virtually.
The two of us struck up a conversation while tearing down the set of the fall play. It was Andrew’s senior year at Mercersburg, and Kathy’s first one, and while our school careers only overlapped for a year, we built a lasting friendship founded on common interests and mutual friends.
Andrew moved up to Michigan City, Indiana, which was close enough to Chicago that he agreed to pick Kathy up for a visit if she could get that far. Kathy, with nothing better to do that summer, bought a $5 bus ticket and headed down from Minnesota for a visit. Her next of many bus tickets were purchased before she’d even left, and the rest is history.
