Kathryn and Jacob were talking for a couple months when they started calling each other and staying on the phone late at night with one another talking for hours on end. Eventually, those phone calls turned into staying up just late enough and then falling asleep to each other's company on the phone. Soon enough, their late night phone calls turned into day to day hangouts and cute dates playing Mortal Kombat. After a day of competing against one another in Mortal Kombat, Jacob had a weird gut feeling about Kathryn. When it was time for him to go, Jacob looked her in the eyes, gave her a hug and a kiss and Jacob knew from that day he fell in love with Kathryn. Being together for 5+ years and having their daughter Trinity has shown the great spread of love he's felt for her and their family since that day.

Kathryn and Jacob met where they were co-workers at the 13th Floor Haunted House. She had crushed on Jacob during a few of their shifts during the Halloween season. During one of their shifts, Jacob walked into the boiler room and told the new employees, "Ya'll are all the fresh meat". Kathryn was waiting in the line to get her make-up done for the scares show when she started messing around with Jacob and grabbing the sides of his shirt as he walked by. After a few scare shows, Kathryn had a break before the next show and before walking into the bathroom, Jacob grabbed Kathryn to the side and pulled her in for a kiss. As they kissed a few 13th Floor customer's walked by to exit and Jacob had to quickly react and act as if he were a zombie eating Kathryn. After Kathryn used the restroom, she went looking for Jacob. Once she found him, she pulled Jacob in for another kiss and from this day she knew she wanted to be with him.
