What should I expect the temperature to be?

Answer

Average temperatures in early May range from 55 degrees F to 75 degrees F with mild humidity. It is recommended to check the weather as there may be chances of rain at that time of year.

What should I wear?

Answer

Spring casual: sundresses, light suits, or dressy separates. The mountains can be cool in the evenings so bring a light jacket or wrap. We recommend wearing shoes without pointy heels as there are gravel walkways and grass you will have to navigate to get to the ceremony / cocktail hour area from the parking lot, and then from the cocktail area to the dinner/dancing area. A golf cart will be available to assist those with mobility limitations.

What is the plan if it rains?

Answer

The show will go on rain or shine. Umbrellas will be provided for the ceremony if it rains. Depending on the severity of the rain, cocktail hour may be moved to under the tent or in the barn. Dinner will be served under a tent. There are gravel walkways between different parts of the venue, so please wear appropriate shoes for navigating the grounds, particularly if there is inclement weather.

Where should I stay?

Answer

There is a block of rooms available at the Residence Inn by Marriott Asheville Biltmore. In addition to the hotel block, there are numerous options for hotels, VRBO, and AirBNB closer to the venue as well as in the surrounding area.

Will transportation be provided between the venue and the hotel?

Answer

Yes, we will be providing transportation between the hotel (Residence Inn) and venue. There will be one pickup time from the hotel to the venue around 4:30pm, and one drop off time from the venue back to the hotel around 10:30pm. You can also book your own ride through AVL Ride (see link on the Travel & Hotel Details page) if you'd prefer. There is also parking available onsite at Laurel Falls if you prefer to drive, but carpooling is encouraged as there are approximately 30 parking spots for wedding guests.
