Our story began during the spring of sophomore year (2009) at Rowan University. Since we were both education majors and Rowan is a relatively small school, we crossed paths frequently both inside and outside of the classroom. Our initial conversations circled around our shared study abroad experiences, both in Australia. Although we didn't date in college, there was always something unidentifiable that continued to draw us to each other. After graduation, we went our separate ways - Veronica joined the Peace Corps, where she lived in Zambia and Kathryn worked as a personal trainer in New Brunswick. Although we were leading such different lives and on opposite sides of the world, we kept in touch during those two years. After a few years Veronica came back and Kathryn reached out, hoping to see her again. After a few missed connections, Veronica knew she had to make something work because Kathryn was special. Finally in the fall of 2014, we met again in Jersey City and after a nervous and awkward hello, we had a fun night together - dancing, eating, singing songs and celebrating Veronica's older sister's birthday. Since reconnecting, we've been on trips all over the country, trained and conquered physical challenges together and are looking forward to continuing to support each other and our families as we build a life and family of our own.
