Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who are walking down the aisle with us and how we met.

Jen Jett

Maid of Honor

HOW WE MET: Working at the Ways & Means Committee. I vividly remember Jen walking into the front office and I thought, "I don't want to be on that girls bad side." Turns out, I had nothing to worry about!

Robbie Hennessey

Best Man

HOW WE MET: Robbie and I met in college at our first hockey practice freshman year and quickly bonded over our shared love for Sam's Pizza Palace at the Jersey Shore. Sophomore year we decided to room together. We continued the tradition Junior year until an unfortunate oven fire (caused by two of our teammates) separated us. But really, the fire only welded our friendship tighter.

Corey Woodburn

Bridesmaid

HOW WE MET: Mr. Burby's 5th grade class. Immediate best friends and neighbors to boot! Some middle school drama got in the way in 7th grade, but it was no match for the movie P.S. I Love You, which we thought would be a great uplifting moving after a tough student council meeting. For those who haven't seen the movie, it is a tear jerker.

Garrett Gamez

Groomsman

HOW WE MET: Garrett and I met on his official visit to Providence College and we quickly became friends. When we weren't on the ice, I was tutoring Garrett and helped with his finance homework.

Lauren McDermott

Bridesmaid

HOW WE MET: During freshman orientation in college, a mutual friend asked if I wanted to go to dinner with her and some of the girls on her hall. I said yes, of course! Crossing campus to meet them, I saw them all walking up from their dorm in a line, shoulder to shoulder -- it looked like a scene out of Mean Girls. But I got lucky! Hollywood was not reality and Lauren fast became one of my best friends.

Coleman Tolbert

Groomsman

HOW WE MET: During Summer 2017 when I was interning in DC, Coleman and I ran into each other checking into our intern housing. When getting to know each other, Coleman pretended like he knew a thing or two about hockey and affectionately referred to the rink as the "ole white top" ... needless to say, this South Carolinian hadn't spent much time on the ice.

Rachel Pearce

Bridesmaid

HOW WE MET: Rachel was one of my interns at Ways and Means. While I don't remember the moment we met or became friends, that may just say it all. Rachel has always been there. We've gone on road trips, shared so many laughs, and enjoyed plenty of happy hours.

Daniel Roberts

Groomsman

HOW WE MET: From the Alaska All-Stars youth hockey team to adulthood, Daniel is my oldest friend. Growing up whether it was playing video games, clashing "swords" in the front yard, or the countless vacations and hockey trips spent together, it was clear we were going to be friends for years.

Tucker Nelson

Bridesmaid

HOW WE MET: What a great question! Neither of us can't remember the instance, but I'm certain that Jen Jett (the MOH) had to be involved and that it was likely at a Capitol Hill reception. We spent the early days of COVID together, walking all over to escape our apartments.

Chance Russell

Groomsman

HOW WE MET: During the Summer of 2017, I was interning in DC. Chance and I happened to be living at the same apartment building and met in the rooftop pool (of course). A year later after graduating, moving to DC and on my first night back, I ran into Chance by coincidence at a pub on the Hill. We picked up right where we left off ... hanging out all the time (especially at rooftop pools).

Anna Wadhwani

Junior Bidesmaid

HOW WE MET: Well, she was born and kept coming over on holidays ... But really, I wish I had her energy. She is always smiling and definitely my favorite goofball.

Ryan Chakmak

Officiant & Groomsman

KATHRYN: I was 3. He was brand new. Even though I really wanted a sister, I got pretty lucky with such a kind-hearted brother who, as a baby, really enjoyed eating sand. TRUMAN: Ryan is a friendly, but quiet guy. When we realized we both enjoyed video games, it was a whole new game. While he normally beats me in Mario Kart and refuses to download Fortnite, I've got the upper hand at Nintendo Switch Sports.

Madeline Hanson

Flower Girl

Avid gymnast and horse rider, Madeline is attracted to the finer things in life (like her godmother, the bride). Madeline began requesting lobster and prosciutto wrapped asparagus at the age of three. Sound familiar? Other identifying characteristics? 2nd cousin. Sister to Eddie and Luke. Amelia's bestie.

Amelia Hanson

Flower Girl

Amelia describes herself as a sweet lemon. Her happy, silly side loves reading, building Lego cities, playing with friends, and using her vivid imagination to come up with her own games. But don't be fooled, beneath the sweetness is the most stubborn seven year old you may ever meet who enjoys tormenting her older brothers and turning everything into a negotiation. Maddie's Bestie.

Luke Hanson

Ring Bearer

You’ll have to look carefully for Luke! While he’s almost as big as his big sister, he’s a stealthy self proclaimed ninja who loves karate and gymnastics. Generally on the shyer and quieter side, Luke has already stated he will not be dancing at the wedding! Brother to Eddie and Maddie. Cousin to Amelia.

Eddie Hanson

Ring Bearer

Named for Eddie Van Halen, family will tell you that he was destined for trouble making. So no surprise if he is found perched in an unexpected place. All can be forgiven though, because he is unbearably cute. Brother to Madeline and Luke. Cousin to Amelia.

Maya Wadhwani

Reader

HOW WE MET: Maya made my 10-year-old dreams come true by making me an older cousin! More than anything, I love that she has completely accepted Truman as one of the family. It takes guts to give a former Providence hockey player a hard time when they lost to Brown (Maya's digs) this year.
