Not at all! Though recommended if you want to explore more of the Cotswolds or other parts of England. There is a parking lot at the wedding venue. If flying into London Heathrow, we’ve listed public transportation directions on the travel page - from LHR and from Paddington Station in central London. Sam and I took the train from London (Paddington Station) to Kemble station this past November and it was easy to figure out. Train tickets are available online too or through the Omio app. There’s a bus that goes through Kemble but we just took an Uber (about a 10 minute ride).
It’s recommended to stay in Tetbury. Lots of hotel options there and good pubs. We have listed some hotel options on the travel page. Airbnbs are a great option too! *** If anyone is interested in “glampling,” the venue (Owlpen Manor) has a campsite on the property for a fee per tent. For more info on this, please reach out to us! We have the venue from Tuesday - Thursday so this would be for Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Welcome drinks at Royal Oak Tetbury - nice casual attire. Jeans are okay! Wedding - formal attire, preferably summer or garden colors (light or bright fun colors)! Jacket and tie for the gentlemen.
