Katie and Nick met on their first day as freshmen at Penn State University. After some time of working on school assignments, Katie asked Nick to attend her roommate's 21st birthday party where they hit it off. Later that week, he took her to The Corner Room for dinner. They had dated for a year before going off to PA school together. While there, they were tested on their knowledge of medicine and added strength and resilience to their relationship, while navigating graduate school. Together they persevered and succeeded on both fronts. Today they are both working in their first jobs as physician assistants, Nick in Orthopedics and Katie in Oncology.
The clouds were heavy with rain and the afternoon was gray, but Nick convinced Katie it was the perfect break in the weather to take pictures with their puppy, Franklin, who had yet to be on the campus where his parents met. Unfortunately, the Lion Shrine was closed for routine upkeep, so Old Main was the next best spot to capture a few pictures. In the car, Katie joked that her nails were the perfect shade of pink "in case of an engagement," but little did she know... When they arrived, there was not a person to be seen on the steps of Old Main, the perfect time for a photoshoot with their beloved dog. After rushing up the steps of Old Main, Katie turned around to find her photographer, Nick, approaching quickly behind her. Confused by this, Katie asked him to step back in order to obtain a better picture angle, to which he responded "I have something more important to ask." The rest of the story, I am sure you can guess...
