Home to the famous 'Script Cleveland' sign, Edgewater Park features 9000 feet of shoreline, dog and swim beaches, boat ramps, fishing pier, picnic areas and grills and a pavilion.
Mitchell's is a local ice cream shop with many locations across Cleveland. However, the Ohio City location, while right down the street from the church, features a view of the ice cream makers in action! Grab a scoop of mint-chocolate chip (Kathryn's favorite) or Caramel Fudge Brownie (Michael's favorite).
If you're staying for a longer period of time, the Cleveland Museum of Art is consistently rated one of the top in the country, AND has free admission! We love the armor court and the gardens.
Probably the most iconic brewery in Cleveland, right down the road from the church in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood.
Cleveland's oldest public indoor-outdoor market. Sample 5+ varieties of grapes, grab some pierogies for a Cleveland specialty or made-to-order Parisian style street crêpes.
Located right on the canal in the East Bank of the Flats neighborhood, you can sip on a pint, enjoy a wood-fired pizza, and watch the freight ships navigate the canal.
While a little further out, there are some excellent hiking trails to check out. You can also rent bikes at Century Cycle in Peninsula and ride the towpath, an 87 mile trail that connects Cleveland to Akron. We love biking and stopping at some of the breweries along the way.
Our favorite west-side neighborhood to hang out in. Visit Lakewood Park to walk along the lake and view the Cleveland skyline, grab some new-age pizza at Dewey's (where Kathryn used to work!), visit some of the many bars and restaurants. We love Barroco, Lakewood Truck Park, Cilantro Taqueria, Griffin's Ciderhouse, and Humble Wine Bar.
