Officiant
Boasting perhaps the sunniest personality in the northern hemisphere and the most infectious laugh on the planet, we are extremely honored that our good friend Matt agreed to officiate our wedding (his third)! Matt and his amazing wife Betsy are truly two of the dearest people Kathryn and Les are privileged to know. FACT: Matt and Betsy were high school sweethearts, have been married for nearly 13 years, and are, by all accounts, absolute #relationshipgoals. They were very proud to welcome their precious son Harrison into the world in May 2019. Thank you so much, Matt!
Ceremony Musician / Harpist
Kathryn met Ann at one of Tia's July birthday beach parties many, many moons ago. Like all of Kathryn's close friends, Ann is a lover of all things shiny, but now she is taking it to a whole other level: Ann is currently working along the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)'s Graduate Colored Stones Program, through which she is learning how to identify, grade, and evaluate fine gemstones. Why yes, Ann is a woman of many surprising talents! Sure, she plays the harp, but you should also know that she spent some time working with a Linear Pelletron Particle Accelerator to study the the atmosphere of Ganymede. Sorry, WHAT? She's also a competitive ballroom dancer, a certified Bob Ross instructor, certified SCUBA diver, and perhaps most importantly: a public high school physics teacher.
Mistress of Honor
Kathryn and Kel first met at Tia's bachelorette party in 2012. Together they share a cult-like devotion towards their shamelessly indulgent gym membership, and also enjoy a mutual appreciation for good steak and fine whiskey. The multi-talented Ms. Allen has graciously lent her creative skills towards many aspects of this wedding, but perhaps most special of all was the handmade project that is Kathryn's bridal veil. Having spent many hours hand crafting it into existence, it can safely be said that Kelley has the dexterity of a surgeon and the patience of a saint. Kelley lives in Cambridge with her longtime partner Alex and their adorable kitten, Luna. FUN FACTS: Kelley is a polyglot, a sabermetrician, and a mermaid.
Mistress of Honor
Kathryn and Tia go way, way back (like, almost 30 years back... yikes.) Tia has been by Kathryn's side through ups and downs and through thick and thin, from grade school through grad school, and all the questionable things that happened in between and after that. By day, Tia is a scientist in biopharmaceutical research. By night... well, that's when things get kinda shady. I'll deflect attention by saying Tia enjoys all manners of crafts, especially cross stitch, because that's pretty wholesome. Tia has been married to groomsman Andrew Bibas since 2012. Tia knows where all the bodies are buried.
Bridesmaid
Kathryn and Gill hit it off from the moment Les introduced them in 2017, bonding immediately over Liam Kyle Sullivan's classic 2007 YouTube hit, "Shoes." It was a truly beautiful moment. At her day job, Gillian is an Associate at an architecture and interior design firm in Boston. She and her husband, groomsman/full-time jokester Kris Cui, are also talented photographers; in fact, many of the beautiful images of Les and Kathryn on this website (including the ones on our Save the Date cards) were taken by them during a fun-filled engagement photo session in October. Gill has been married to groomsman Kris Cui since 2016. Gillian has better taste in furniture than 9 out of 10 people reading this.
Bridesmaid
Kathryn and Mo began as coworkers in 2008, and eventually (inevitably) became subsumed into Kathryn's tight-knit inner circle of friends, the Shady Ladies. Maureen is a professional architectural historian and full-time badass as well as a connoisseur of fine hats and footwear. She is also a born artistic photographer with a real eye for natural beauty. Some of her best photos seem to be taken during her training runs, as she also enjoys trail races. Maureen lives in Littleton where she has finely tuned her skills for diplomacy and compromise; you see, she lives with three living Presidents: her cats Taft, Grant, and Hayes. Her Bloodhound mix puppy, Ella, however, is still working to learn the intricacies of interspecies relations, but she'll figure it out eventually.
Bridesmaid
Kathryn and Sara were introduced by Les in Fall of 2017 and almost immediately felt a peculiar kinship form between them. Her warm and earnest smile alone is enough to make you feel at ease, but if that doesn't work, one of her delicious cocktails will do the trick. She may put on a humble front, but here's the truth: Sara is a literal international woman of mystery and Kind of a Big Deal. Kathryn appreciates Sara's no-nonsense approach towards "getting it done," because ain't nobody got time for flim-flam. When she's not evangelizing the concept of sound as an essential element of the home environment (something, something, SONOS x IKEA...), Sara lends her talents as an expert talker in her moonlighting gig as a voice actress. Sara has been married to Best Man Tom Morris since 2014.
Best Man
Tom has been Les' best friend since they shared their first World of Warcraft build trees together at the IOL in college (because that's what you did at the IOL; you didn't actually work, that's silly). They also agree that the best sandwich in the world is the Moe's Original with spicy oil, so, obviously it was a friendship that was meant to be. They have spent a truly countless number of hours together experiencing and enjoying life. Tom is the ever-loving husband of Sara Morris, a marriage which Les holds in the highest regard and is one enduring partnership that he will look to for inspiration in guiding his own.
Groomsman
Peebz and Beebz, its got a ring to it! Les was fortunate and blessed enough to meet Kathryn, which led him to the additional fortune of getting to meet one, Andrew Bibas. Les and Andrew have got along from the get-go, as they share a love for all things related to boardgames and videogames, and Star Wars, and Trigun, and the Zahn trilogy, and... well, the list goes on and on. It's a great feeling knowing that even as you continue to grow older, you can still make wonderful new friends -- and Andrew Bibas is the perfect example of that.
Groomsman
Kris will throw somebody else's Xbox controller across the room if he's not happy about how a game match is going - that's the type of passion that Kris brings to the world and to his friendships. Truly the greatest of trolls in Les' circle of friends, he wears that badge of honor proudly. If he's not Rick Rolling someone, he's not happy. That's what we love about Kris though. He's always smiling, entertaining, and keeping the mood bright and cheerful. Les has had the pleasure of his company since very early on in college, circa 2004, and is delighted to have him by his side on his wedding day. Thank you, Kris, for never giving up, never letting us down, and never deserting us. Never making us cry, never saying goodbye, and never telling lies. Rick would be proud of you.
Groomsman
Andrew Gadzik, or z0oks as we lovingly call him, has the best laugh on the planet. No I'm serious, it's a contagious laugh and if you don't have a proper oxygen supply you'll end up laughing yourself to death because you can't find enough time to breathe in between laughing so hard. It's the absolute best. Les and Andrew met in 2004 at the IOL, which was a place computer science students met to discuss videogames. Gaming pals for life, we'll be enjoying his laugh and games together until the end of our days, or until we lose the capability to play games, or whenever our wives make us stop playing games. Until then, game on, brother.
Groomsman
Brad sold Les his first guitar, and really inspired him to pursue the hobby and instrument. He and Les also watched a truly insane amount of Star Trek: The Next Generation together during their college years, as they were lucky enough to be neighbors (possibly the best year of Les' life, and the wedding party would agree with that). It was truly a pleasure pursuing the noble tradition of playfully ripping on Wesley Crusher after class was out for the day. In addition to being an all around great guy and great friend, Brad is a brilliant man and role model. We all look up to Brad, Les especially, for reasons that if you know him are self-evident.
