It all started eight years ago on Railey Beach in Thailand — though not exactly like a fairy tale. At a bus stop, I was super mean to David (his words, not mine). Somehow, that rocky start led to something unforgettable. A year later, we met halfway in New York City for our first official date, and from there, countless flights and time zones became part of our story. After years of long distance, I moved to Salt Lake City in June 2019. Just as life together began, a family emergency in March 2020 sent me back home. Five months apart during COVID made it clear: Utah was where I wanted to be. That fall, faced with travel bans, green card hurdles, and the thought of being separated again, we made the easiest hard decision of our lives: we eloped in Las Vegas. With facemasks, only five days to prepare, and three weeks before I would have been deported, we said “I do.” Not glamorous, but perfectly us. Since then, David and I have built a life together in Salt Lake full of new friendships, adventures, and a community we now consider family. We are so excited to finally celebrate with all of you, not just our love story, but the people who’ve been part of it along the way.
