Kathryn and Charles first met at the new intern bar crawl in downtown Louisville, KY. Kathryn was a brand new Pediatrics 1st year resident and Charles was a new 2nd year Child Neurology resident. Kathryn did chat with him that evening. She was lured by his dashing Hawaiian shirt, tall build, handsome looks, and friendly charisma. She was excited to learn he was an engineer and had a twin. They would then go on to exchange friendly conversations and cheeky smiles at the hospital in passing. However, it wasn't until a crisp autumn day at the local pumpkin patch until the two really hit it off. Conveniently though unintentionally, their respective groups coupled off leaving the two of them to hang out alone. They talked for several hours as they strolled through the fields of gourds. Kathryn cutely pointed out how she identified with the white pumpkins as they were surrounded by all of the orange ones. Afterwards they were both invited to watch some football at a mutual friend's house. Kathryn was nervous, as she was about to go to a party with nearly all strangers. But, she was willing to take the risk for the sake of not losing this man! Ultimately, they both had a blast and decided to head out for the night together. They had a quiet conversation under the light of the moon by their cars, and Charles dove in for the kill as he asked to exchange phone numbers. Kathryn said yes, and Charles was excited to see where this road would go. His heart was filled with hopes and dreams, but they came to an abrupt halt as Kathryn romantically froze and asked, "what's your name, again?" Later that night after parting ways with their first hug, Kathryn apologized as she felt embarrassed but the rest was happily ever after! Although Charles' name was forgettable, the coming months were some of the most memorable of their lives. They found a mutual love for swing dancing and in going to church together. Kathryn won't let him forget the first time giving peace during mass when he held out his hand rather than a hug! Don't worry, Kathryn won with the hug. They also shared countless memories including Kathryn meeting Charles' family on Thanksgiving, going to the ballet to see The Nutcracker, and skiing for the first time on a small hill in Indiana. Time spent with Kathryn's family allowed Charles to see where such a wonderful woman came from. It was a year full of great memories and adventures. They fell further in love stargazing atop the Grand Tetons. They also enjoyed the little moments while working on a woodworking project together, challenging each other to tennis, paying out bets lost, and sharing delicious home cooked meals. The couple feels blessed to have found each other, and to have so many wonderful people in their lives. They are truly excited to see everyone at the wedding and share our love with the amazing people who have shaped their lives. They can't wait to see everyone!!
