Welcome to our Love Story...

The couple met online at the beginning of June 2019, and connected over their weight loss journeys that both had gone through in the recent past. Because both Brian and Kat were a big fan of Quentin Tarantino movies, they crammed their first date into only a few hours since Kat worked two jobs, and watched Pulp Fiction in Kat's apartment as their first date. From there, they were inseparable and Brian kept driving down to Kalamazoo on the evenings during the work week to watch movies together, play games, and hang out -- something that never stopped and they never grew tired of. Only a few weeks later, they made their relationship official and never looked back. They met each other's families, weathered everything life threw at them, and never questioned fate bringing them together after their collective journeys.

The week after their four year anniversary, Brian and Kathryn decided to be a bit more creative than previous years when it came time to celebrate their relationship. On the 27th, Kathryn was in charge of planning a special day for Brian which was filled with an escape room, a special breakfast, and a surprise trip to Dave and Buster's. On Kathryn's day, which was the 28th, Brian planned a hike in Grand Ledge, where they enjoyed the scenery along the river, a dinner at Rose's on the water in Grand Rapids, and then to end the night, Brian brought Kathryn to the place where they had celebrated their one year anniversary back in 2020, Holland Harbor. Brian brought Kathryn out to the edge of the pier and got on one knee, and of course she said yes! It was a beautiful moment since they were celebrating such an important milestone in such a significant location that already meant the world to them. After the engagement, the couple watched the sunset on the pier and enjoyed the beach before returning to Kalamazoo! Both Brian and Kathryn are so excited to be apart of each other's lives forever and are also excited to celebrate their marriage on their five year anniversary with their family and friends in Grand Rapids in 2024!
