Charleston International Airport Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the closest airport to downtown Charleston, only a 15 minute drive to downtown hotels. It is a 25-30 min drive from the airport to Sullivan’s Island or Wild Dunes. Taxis and Ubers are available at CHS. Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is a 2 hour drive from downtown Charleston, so flying in there and renting a car is an option. If you’ve never been, Savannah is a wonderful southern city to check out as a part of your trip down South! Myrtle Beach International Airport Myrtle Beach International Airport is a 2 hour drive from downtown Charleston, so flying in there and renting a car is an option.
