We met way back in high school on a blind date, Ashton was in 11th grade and I was in 10 grade. We each had the same mutual friend who thought it would be fun to go bowling, so he set up a blind date one night after my hockey game. We were "official" a couple of weeks later. We have been through a lot in the 11 years of being together, but still are both so thankful for that blind date all those years ago!

We got engaged while we were on vacation at one of our favorite places in Fort Meyers, FL. We were walking on the beach at sunset before heading to our favorite restaurants, and I remember I kept asking Ashton if we could take a picture at sunset. We walked a little further back down the beach toward the restaurant and Ashton found someone who was taking professional pictures of the pier during the sunset. Ashton asked him if he would take a picture of us with his cell phone, Ashton then got on his knee and proposed! The guy who took the picture got some amazing pictures both with Ashton's phone and his professional camera! We then went to eat at our favorite restaurant on Fort Meyers Beach.
