Question

What are some additional tips for travel?

Answer

-Pack an adaptor, as Europe has different outlets (example: https://a.co/d/09Ux0AUe) -Pack a portable charger! They’re very helpful when walking around all day. -Use google maps when using navigation to walk around a city, especially when looking at public transportation schedules. -Contact your cell phone provider for international rates (usually ~$10/day), or purchase a prepaid Europe sim card for data use. -Download WhatsApp, which is what many people use to communicate abroad. -Ensure you contact your bank if you plan to use your debit card or make a withdrawal from your checking account (I.e. taking out euros) -Visa and Mastercard are accepted at most places, otherwise it’s helpful to have euros handy! Visit your bank prior to traveling to make a currency exchange. American Express is accepted at hotels and higher end shops/restaurants, but not everywhere. -An interesting fact! - Mundaka and Bilbao are located in Basque Country, in which their first language is Basque! They also speak Spanish, and some, but not all, speak English. This is a great time to brush up on your Spanish in Duolingo, or if you really want to impress the locals, see below for some commonly used basque phrases: Kaixo: hello (kai-sho) Agur: goodbye Eskerrik asko: thank you Oso ondo: very good
