We are so excited to share this day with you and look forward to dancing the night away with all of our favorite people! The challenges of 2020 and 2021 have certainly thrown our plans for a loop. Please use this website to stay up to date on all of the changes that may occur. Thank you for sticking with us during this crazy time!
Pat and Kathryn both grew up in Peabody, MA. They had many mutual friend groups and frequented many of the same places. However, they didn't meet until 2015 when their respective roommates were sisters. Becky and Pat would come over on Wednesday nights to watch American Horror Story and catch up on the Walking Dead at Joanna and Kathryn's. Unbeknownst to Kathryn, a plan was made to set them up to watch TV alone one night. Thanks to an internet meme, Pat worked up the courage to ask Kathryn out to dinner. They went to Sugar Cane in Peabody (right down the street from Olio) and have been together ever since!
With Joe and Joellen's blessing, Pat proposed on Christmas morning of 2018. After a delicious Christmas breakfast and the chaos of the family gifts, Pat pulled out one last present; a shiny silver box containing an engagement ring with Joellen's diamond reset into Kathryn's favorite setting. To no one's surprise, Kathryn said yes.
Pat and Kathryn eloped privately on 8/8/2020. With all of the changes and uncertainty due to the pandemic, we decided to postpone our reception (again) and elope. The pandemic showed us how important our love was and we wanted to commit to each other forever. It was bittersweet as we are overjoyed to be married but missed the joy in sharing this time with our family and friends. This decision was not made lightly, but the health and safety of our guests and loved ones needed to come first. In 2021, we will renew our vows, share traditions, and re-experience our joy in front of those most important to us. A marriage is between two people, a wedding is a celebration of that marriage with the people you love. We can't wait to celebrate with you on 8/6/21 once it is safe!
