How we met

January 25, 2022

Before Kathleen met Bobby she used to purchase sub-par bagels for team travel. Her housemate said, "why don't you purchase Cleveland Bagels, they are the best in the city." She started visiting Cleveland Bagel, shortly after Covid. With most visits, this high spirited guy, (aka, Bobby Bagel), surfaced from the back of the bagel shop, and week after week he escorted her multiple bags of bagels, to her vehicle. She LOVED his energy. After a year or so, she knew little about him but discovered more about him via a facebook deep dive. She realized he was also friends with a someone whom she traveled with to the Soviet Union for a running competition in 1989. This mutual friend is a great guy so she thought, hmmm, why not take a chance at asking the bagel man for a date. She did and he said YES! Fast forward to Jan. 25, 2022, a chilly, winter afternoon, they were off to Shaker Lakes Nature Center for a their first walking date. After lots of connection and laughter that day, he asked her for a formal dinner date in the upcoming weeks. She picked the restaurant, Michaelangelo's in Little Italy, which has become a favorite dinner spot. As they explored more about each other they realized, their paths had crossed many times. Their years at Ohio University were in tandem, they shared several mutual friends, their childhood addresses had the same four numbers in them, He had an Uncle Everett and Aunt Ruth, his middle name is Everett and mine, Ruth. As time ticked on together, there were other connectivity and discoveries. Ironically, their first marriages were on the same date and the same time in 1988. After all those intersections, they happily continued their connection/partnership. As they gather on June 21st, the summer solstice, and the longest day of the year, they believe it represents a long and lasting union! They are happy to share their new beginnings with all of you! Let's celebrate together!!
