We're Getting MArried!

Kathleen's sister Colleen was/is dating Pat's best friend, Mark. Colleen had been out with Pat and Mark a few times and thought Kathleen and Pat would really hit it off. Pat is a musical guy who loves Vegas Bombs and Nickelback. As soon as Kathleen heard those things, she was sold! Their first time meeting was in March of 2017 at Gelsosomo's pizzeria in downtown Lemont where Colleen was working at the time. Pat brought Mark, and Kathleen brought her friend Lauren to help eliminate any awkwardness. Pat probably said less than ten words to Kathleen the entire night. When they left the pizzeria that night, Mark texted Colleen saying that Pat really liked Kathleen. Kathleen of course felt the same, and they have been inseparable ever since!

Every Thanksgiving morning, Kathleen's family runs the Bonfield race in Downtown Downers Grove. Due to Covid, it didn't end up happening. Kathleen's family still wanted to keep the tradition alive, so they arranged their own run at McCullum Park in Downers Grove, a park where Kathleen spent a lot of her childhood years since it was the backyard of one of her first homes. Kathleen knew that Pat was only going to run the first mile since running isn't really his forte. Kathleen ran the course with Meg and throughout the run, Pat was there cheering her on. When Kathleen and Meg crossed the finish line, no one was there which Kathleen thought was weird, but didn't think too much of it. They finished walking around the course to meet up with everyone else, when all of a sudden she saw Pat standing alone in the trees, surrounded by rose petals and pictures of them throughout their relationship. Surrounded by their families, Pat got down on his knee and proposed to Kathleen on his birthday! A birthday they will both never forget.
