In June of 2023, Kathleen and Matthew met the way most modern couples do—on Hinge. This came shortly after Kathleen had confidently declared to her friends that she would never meet her husband in Charleston, and just after Matthew had moved back to the city following time spent living in Savannah. Fate, of course, had other plans. Their first date was instant magic. Conversation flowed so easily that neither wanted it to end—though it did get cut a bit short due to Kathleen needing to rush home to watch the newest episode of Vanderpump Rules. Luckily, a second date was planned just two days later, and the rest of the summer was spent completely falling in love. They filled their days trying new coffee shops, spending time at the beach, and taking long walks while exploring Charleston’s neighborhoods. Kathleen knew Matthew was “the one” when he planned a romantic date to watch Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at a drive-in theater—a truly unforgettable moment. Over the next two years, Kathleen and Matthew learned as much as they could about each other through traveling, laughing, and growing together. Early on, they realized they would never be able to know everything about one another—and decided the best way to keep trying was to spend the rest of their lives together. So, two very quick years later, Matthew proposed in Hampton Park in Charleston, South Carolina, surrounded by close friends and family who were there to witness and celebrate the moment. Kathleen was genuinely surprised—so much so that she had eaten a very large portion of pasta right beforehand. 😉 Now, Kathleen and Matthew are beyond excited to celebrate their marriage surrounded by the people who have loved and supported them from the very beginning. Their wedding day is a chance to bring together family and friends from all parts of their lives for a weekend full of love, laughter, and dancing—and they can’t wait to make unforgettable memories with everyone there.
