Depending on who you ask about how they first met you may get conflicting stories. Kat will say it was at a CrossFit competition that Kortney was running at Etowah High School. While it was a brief encounter they officially met for a minute after introducing themselves to each other. Kat will say that Kortney didn't remember her and paid no attention to her. Kortney will say that he had was running an event and met a ton of people that day. A couple months later on January 10th, 2016 they officially went on their first date after being introduced by mutual friends David and Kim Argel. Their first date started at Truck and Tap in downtown Woodstock, progressed to a walk at Rope Mill Park and ended with a steamy hot kiss in Kortney's car. They never looked back and knew from the very first date they wanted to be together. Life brought Kortney and amazing daughter and Kat two amazing son's. More importantly it brought each of the kids a new sibling that over the years they have formed an awesome relationship. It's not easy blending families but they have always and always will be the most important thing to Kortney and Kat. Kortney proposed to Kat after taking her to a cabin/bed and breakfast in North Carolina that she had wanted to go to for years. It was during Valentine's day and very romantic with just the two of them. Yes Kortney waited 5 years and it was too long but they were never going anywhere else in life except with each other. While they have been together for close to 6 years they are still enjoying getting to know each other and adventure through life like their first date. There is so much more to learn and while they will never have another first date with each other they are constantly going on first new adventures together.
