August 25, 2016 It is true what they say, "sometimes when you least expect it, good things will happen." Four days into our freshman year of college at Clemson University Daniel and I met each other at FCA. We came into college single and both had the intention of remaining single, so we did not think much of one another the first night we met. However, I told my freshman year roommate who grew up with Daniel how cute I thought he was. Throughout the following weeks we continually ran into one another, and a month into college went on our first unofficial date (because we were not going to date anyone).
November 14, 2016 My first date with Daniel was one of the most fun nights of my life. Daniel was something really special from the first time I spent time with him, and I knew after only a few dates with Daniel he was the person I wanted to go on dates with for the rest of my life. Falling in love with Daniel was the most natural, most fun, and fastest thing I have ever done. Our time dating has been marked by intentionality, prayer, laughter, grace, and so much FUN.
October 19, 2019 The most ordinary day become the most extraordinary day. After a cancelled weekend trip to Charleston, Daniel planned a Saturday night date. I spent the day with girlfriends watching Clemson football and carving pumpkins as the rain fell hard all day. I had no expectation of a proposal and seriously considered cancelling our date, because I did not want to go on in the rain. On the way to our date Dan wanted to visit his grandparents at their farm in Anderson, and told me he wanted to show me something on their back porch. If you know Daniel, wanting to show someone something random is not out of the ordinary. We walked around onto their back porch to the most beautiful set up of flowers, magnolia wreathes, and candles. Admiring the beauty that I assumed was the work of his mimi from her garden I began saying how incredible her arrangement was. No part of me even considered this was for a proposal, but Daniel physically pulled at my jacket to turn around and look at him on one knee. I wept. I said "YES!" Daniel and I talked and prayed over this day almost the entirety of our dating relationship. In our mind marriage was never a question of if but when. I just truly had no idea when it would be. From the surprise of the proposal to every single detail was perfectly planned by Daniel. We took an hour alone together following the proposal to talk, laugh, pray, and celebrate. We were surrounded and loved by our friends and family that night for a surprise party. And now we are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you! See you in Bluffton for the best day of our lives!
