We highly recommend taking a guided tour of the Savannah Historic District. There are ghost tours, haunted pub crawls, architecture, historical, and sight-seeing tours available. This is a great way to explore the historic district. We recommend a walking tour as there is beauty and great intrigue down each and every street. Take a drink with you as it is one of the few cities in the US where it is perfectly legal to walk around with a drink in your hand.
“Life is like a box of chocolates...” You may recognize this historic square from the movie Forest Gump, as it was the setting in which the bench scene was filmed. It is likely the most famous square, but be sure to check out the others too! There are a total of 22, all with unique vibes.
Take a walk down Jones Street. The historic homes and old oak trees make this street the perfect place for a romantic walk.
Nestled in the historic district, a favorite among locals and tourists alike, and offering a little haunted history is 17hundred90 Inn and Restaurant. This is a great place for a romantic dinner date serving the best of regional “low-country” cuisine, or to enjoy a drink in their tavern room (the key-lime pie shot is a must try!).
This is a great restaurant/bar to enjoy seafood, and other low-country favorites while sipping on a delicious cocktail at either their 2nd floor tiki bar, or third floor rooftop bar, located right in the heart of the historic district.
