The year was 1974 or 75, Bucks Lake California. Every August my family would go to the cabin for our annual 2 week vacation. My sister and I were lucky enough to bring friends with us so Nancy, Debbie, Laura and I were having a great time like we always did. During our stay we met the boys from the Garrett Cabin, Craig, Skeeter and Brooks. We had lots of fun hanging out on the beach and trying to stay out of trouble. After that summer and throughout the years Craig and I would see each other in passing at cabin meetings and such. We both went on with our lives, little did we know what plans God had for us. The year 2016 as Craig tells it.... I didn't know what her status was so I friended her on FaceBook. Then started looking around and found that she had a ton of friends and family that kept her very busy but didn't see anything about anyone special in her life. I finally figured out that she had been alone since 2007 after the death of Dean. So I started sending messages to get to know her again. We were finally at the cabin in 2018 at the same time both with our moms he asked if I wanted to go for a drink . So we took his boat over to Lakeshore for a couple of Tree Smackers, yummmmmm. At the end of our vacation we started an over the phone relationship, he was in California and I was in Vegas. We would spend hours upon hours just talking and getting to know each other. We finally spent a weekend together in October of that year and we've been together ever since. When we met, he told me "I'm not looking to get married again, been there done that" so I was just fine with that. Well about a year into our relationship he said "how would you feel if we started to talk about getting married" well that took me by a surprise, but a good surprise.
