Golden Gate National Recreation Area
Golden Gate National Recreation Area offers a few of our favorite activities: * Biking over the Golden Gate Bridge * Picnic at Fort Mason in the Marina - lots of young people and great energy * Rodeo Beach is over the bridge in Marin County, Great area for hiking. We spend a lot of time here. Then get brunch at Cavallo Point Lodge, an old military barracks. Awesome views back to the city. * Lands End Lookout - northwest corner of San Francisco. Great hike with beautiful scenery!
Reed & Greenough
This is the piano and cocktail bar where we met! Reed & Greenough has been located in the Marina since the mid 1800's. LIVE PIANO ~ HAND-CRAFTED COCKTAILS ~ GAMES ROOM
Balboa Cafe
This is possibly our most frequented restaurant in San Francisco! It is located one block from Kathleen's first apartment. The Balboa Burger is the only acceptable item (kidding, but it's really good). Well known for its espresso martinis, too.
AltoVino
Our neighborhood spot a few blocks from our condo. Amazing pastas, we go there all the time!
China Live
Experience Chinatown at a trendy, quasi-healthy Chinese food restaurant. Insanely delicious!
Corison Winery
We have been wine club members here for years, and it is the place we go most often. This is an unassuming type of place, not touristy at all. They are famous for their Cabernet (more of a European style, not the huge in- your-face cabs that you find more often in the Valley).
Peju Winery
Beautiful grounds and appropriately priced wines. We really like the chilled red called “Peju Provence.” Very unique and refreshing!
HALL Wines St. Helena
A well-known winemaker in Napa Valley. A slightly larger producer and some of the most beautiful grounds we have visited.
Domaine Carneros
Looks like a European castle, famous for their sparkling wines. Very close to Carneros Resort (you can even borrow bikes from the resort and bike over).
Cuvaison Estate Wines
Modern/ chic tasting room with gorgeous views of the valley. Very close to Carneros Resort.
Ad Hoc
Downtown Yountville, Thomas Keller restaurant (same guy who does the super fancy and expensive French Laundry). This is a comfort food type of place, massive servings (always a plus for Ben!).
Bouchon Bistro
Also downtown Yountville, also Thomas Keller. Kind of famous - French bistro vibe, super chic. A little touristy but we think worth it. Excellent moules-frites!
Mustards Grill
St Helena staple near all of the best wineries on Hwy 29. Roadside bistro feel, delicious food.
Gott's Roadside
Bay Area institution, classic drive-in for burger and a beer. So yummy. One location off the main highway in St Helena (Hwy 29) and another in downtown Napa at Oxbow Market.
Oenotri
Located in downtown Napa. Super simple and unassuming but incredible, fresh Italian food.
Oxbow Public Market
Downtown Napa, tons of different shops and restaurants. Open-market feel with lots of options, good for a coffee and quick breakfast or glass of wine and some oysters.
