On a cold night in January 2012, I walked in to my friend's apartment for a party. I was a bit nervous as I only knew a handful of people. I sat down and waited for my other friends to arrive. To my left, this guy was staring at me. He wouldn't stop! It was seriously creeping me out! I didn't want to encourage his creepy behavior, so I chose to ignore him... That did not work out as planned. He soon approached me and said, "you look familiar." I said something along the lines of "don't try that line on me. I'm not interested." Well, it turns out he was telling the truth. We had actually met the previous November. A few months earlier, I was attending a concert with some friends. As many of you know, I love being up front - close to the action on the stage. At this particular show, the action was a bit rowdy and I was quickly wrapped up in the raging of a very rough crowd. People were crowd surfing and being passed along from the back of the crowd to the front, and vice versa. ...those people were inadvertently kicking me in the head. I had an 8 am class the next morning, and I was not looking forward to a concussion. Fortunately, a man a few rows back saw my peril and started moving the offending people away from me. I was saved! It turns out, the man at the party and the man at the concert are one in the same. And six years later, he is not only the man at the party, or the man at the concert, but the man who is to become my husband.
