Jadaven and I met at West Brook Senior high school. We were in an integrated chemistry and physics class together. He was a sophomore at the time and I was just a freshman, but let me tell you, I didn’t like him at all. He was such a playful and childish young man and he always wanted all of my answers off my paper. I use to just sit and think to myself, what on earth is wrong with this guy. However, in the following year I had the chance of seeing him again. Our high school was pretty big, so naturally I thought I’d never see him again. Therefore, I decided to approach him while he was standing in the cafeteria line and I needed a reason as to why I came over so suddenly. I then noticed he had the new IPhone 6s Plus in his hand and I could only think to myself “thank you god” because I honestly didn’t know what I was going to say. As I started speaking to him he seemed kind of confused, so that’s when I asked him about the new phone and if it was worth buying. It only took me a couple of seconds to get a good look at him and I only thought one thing, “this guy is pretty cute”. After he answered me I asked to see his phone and for some reason I put my phone number in there, handed him back his phone, and then just walked away. I’ve never done anything that bold in my life so naturally I was terrified of the consequences to my actions. To my surprise he actually texted me and after that the rest was all history. Six years and an engagement later I’m still very happy with my bold decision all those years ago.

It was Christmas Eve and I had just got off of work at 4:00. Jadaven came and picked me up and on the ride home he asked me would I like to get dressed up and go out to eat. I asked him well where would we go, because I’m sure most places to dress really fancy were probably already booked and we don’t have reservations. He says “we can just got to Olive Garden” and I’m just like who dresses up that fancy to go to Olive Garden. Nevertheless, I told him if that’s what you really want and would make you happy fine. At this point I’m just about done getting ready and I realized the house all of a sudden got quiet. I stepped into the living room and he was just standing there alone holding this black bag. He told me he was giving me my Christmas gift early and handed me a big box that was in the bag. With a box that size I surely thought it was the diamond necklace I’ve been asking for, but nothing couldn’t prepare me for what he did next. He went towards the Christmas stocking behind me and pulled out an even smaller box while saying “it’s been a wonderful six years and I really love you” and then he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! If you haven’t guessed yet we definitely didn’t go to Olive Garden lol!
