When Boy Met Girl

July 2018

It all started with a boy's good intentions, a simple "Are you okay?", and a girl in need of saving. - It was a typical Saturday night back in the summer of July 2018. My friends and I were going to the Trussville PlayStation, a skating rink in town, which was such a conflicting place for me to be at back then simply because being at the rink made me so sad, but it was also a second home filled with many I grown to love, so I still went every weekend and tried my best to enjoy my time being there. I had tried to keep my spirits up as much as I could that night but, I was going through a lot at the time. That being said, for some reason that night I was having a more difficult time letting loose so, I just sat in the corner my friends and I always sat in, buried my head in my knees and let the thoughts in my head overwhelm me. Unexpectedly, a boy in a sea of hundreds had saw little old me in the dark, loud, and definitely chaotic building, curled up into myself and with just a genuine heart of gold came skating over to kneel down and check on me. As cheesy as this sounds, that's when all the stars collided in the universe, and our lives would be changed forever. Soon after getting to know each other, he asked me to be his girlfriend on August 7th of the same year. From there our relationship took off. We became inseparable! It went from every weekend to every week to everyday. Starting our relationship at the age of 15 definitely had us on a rocky rollercoaster at first. We were so immature then and thought so naively about how the world worked, but it truly allowed us to have the experience of growing up together. An experience I wouldn't trade in for anything. We have experienced a lot of firsts together, alongside a lot of major highs and a lot of major lows. Through it all we have always managed to make it out together, hand in hand, and stronger than before. There is absolutely no one else I would rather be taking on life's obstacles and successes with. He is my comfort, he is my best friend, he is my eternal love. And I have no doubt he feels all the same, for if he didn't, you would not be reading this here in this moment, on this website, R.S.V.P'ing to our wedding.

When Boy Proposed To Girl

January 1st 2022

It was late at night on December 31st. I had just gotten off from work and was told by Noah that one of his close friends was throwing a New Year's party and he really wanted me to accompany him. Going to a party was honestly one of the last things I wanted to do but, I told him I'd go if he really wanted me to, so it looked like attending a party was going to be in the cards for that night. Suddenly he said he had to run to the skating rink to help out one of his friends who was having some car problems. I didn't think anything of it and just hung out with my parents until he was supposed to be coming back to pick me up for us to leave. After about an hour, maybe 2, he called and told me he needed me to bring some tool thing that was at the house to help with his friend's car problem. I grabbed the tool and started heading there. I called him once I got there, and he just told me to go ahead and come inside for a minute. I immediately got anxious and kind of was catching on since a day or so before one of our close friends got engaged and we had been talking a bit about the topic of proposing/being engaged. After I collected myself, I headed inside and noticed the crack under the entrance door was pitch black with a red glow. The second I opened the door my eyes saw nothing but that same red light and my ears were flooded with the song he would always play and sing to me "Die A Happy Man" by Thomas Rhett. The next thing I noticed were all the pictures of us from our very first one, to our most recent one. He had little jars with tea candles inside and flower petals leading a path straight to him. I don't even remember what I said but he was so nervous he kind of just spat out how much he loved me and how much he wanted to be with me. Then one of life's most important questions was asked. "Will you marry me?" Of course, I said yes just as fast as he could ask. Once we left the company of everyone who was hiding in all the nooks and crannies we just stood outside, played "Die A Happy Man" through my car radio and just hugged each other and swayed along with the cold, breezy air and when we finally got a chance to look at our phones, we realized it was officially the first day of 2022! It was the best way to start off the New Year. <3
