What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Wisconsin State Capitol by 2:40 PM. Navigating the building can take a few extra minutes, and we want to ensure everyone is settled so we can begin promptly at 3:00 PM.

Where exactly is the ceremony held?

Answer

We are saying our "I dos" in the West Rotunda on the First Floor of the Capitol. The most direct path is through the West Washington Avenue entrance. Once inside on the Ground Floor, head to the center of the building and take the grand stairs or the elevator up one level to the First Floor. You will find us in the West Wing overlooking the center of the building.

What is the dress code?

We request that our guests join us in Cocktail Attire. Since we will be walking a few blocks between the Capitol, the hotel, and dinner, we recommend choosing footwear you are comfortable walking in on city sidewalks!

What should we do between the ceremony and dinner?

Answer

Our ceremony wraps up at 3:45 PM, and dinner at The Harvey House begins at 6:00 PM. Since many of you are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites, this is a great time to head back to the hotel to refresh or relax. If you’d rather stay out, we recommend grabbing a cocktail at Lucille or The Coopers Tavern on the Square, or stopping by Genna’s Lounge, which is right on the path toward the hotel and dinner!

Where should I park?

Answer

Staying at the Hampton Inn? Please park at the hotel and enjoy the short walk to both the Capitol (10 mins) and The Harvey House (7 mins). Driving in for the Ceremony? The Capitol Square North Garage is the most convenient public option near our Capitol entrance. Driving in for Dinner? Parking at The Harvey House is very limited. We recommend the Overture Center Garage for a short, two-block walk to the restaurant.
