Where to begin! We were just two middle schoolers who met in the same math class on the first day of school in September of 2000. Boy has time flown! A sweet memory that Katherine will always hold near and dear to her heart is when Steven called her house one day after the first week of school. She had walked in from the bus to him leaving a message on the machine asking to call him back. When her grandma Mimi asked her if she was and Katherine said she wasn’t sure, she exclaimed empathetically, “Katie, call that poor boy back!” And she did, which was only the start of their love story. Though we didn’t initially start dating until high school, we had, unbeknownst to each other, loved each other since the start. From Steven biking all the way from his house to my house (with a pit stop at Wilton Stop and Shop to pick up a bouquet of roses), to our first date seeing War of the Worlds (2005), to Katherine going over Steven’s house for the first time and hugging him the whole time while he played Grand Theft Auto, to memorable Friday night pizza nights at the Nappa’s, to weekly diner dates at Orems, to regular coffee dates at Norwalk Starbucks, to watching the fireworks on Katherine’s dads boat on the fourth of July, to picnics at Aunt Debbie’s, to movie nights at Steven’s house, to Steven rushing to be at Katherine’s side in the ER when she had terrible food poisoning, and Katherine comforting Steven when he had kidney stones, we can firmly say we have been there for each other, through the ups and downs, every step of the way. Even though we always loved each other more than anything, our paths diverged several times, but we always found our way back to each other. And that is why despite eight years apart, when by chance, we ran into each other at the same doctor's office on April 4th, 2023 (Mimi’s birthday), we knew that fate had brought us together again, but this time, for good. So here’s to finally creating the life we always wanted, together. Thank you to everyone that has supported us through the years, but most of all, for being a part of our story.
