After a beautiful winter together in New York City, Katherine and Robert celebrated their first year as a couple by vacationing in Saint Barthélemy. On the evening of April thirteenth, the two agreed to watch the sunset from the highest point of the island. Alone on the windy peak, Robert held Katherine as they watched the sun cast its final glow on the cliffs and beaches below. As dusk crept over the sky, Katherine turned to find Robert on bended knee holding the ring he had carried throughout their travels. Robert asked Katherine to be his wife, so that they could watch a lifetime of sunsets together, and always hold each other from the wind.
Once the engagement was announced, everyone agreed the Ocean House would be the perfect venue. As a child, Katherine spent summers in Watch Hill playing on the beach, learning to sail, enjoying ice cream cones from St. Clair Annex, and riding on the ninteenth century Flying Horse Carousel. Robert, Katherine, her mother, and her grandparents look forward to sharing their favorite summer destination with you!
