Pete and Katie originally met in elementary school. Katie remembers having a little crush on him, even then. She never forgot about him as the years passed by. Fast forward a decade later and they both ended up on the same dating site. They got to talking and catching up and found out they had immediate chemistry. At the time Katie was living in Raleigh, so they made plans to meet for their first date while she was home visiting her parents. Their first date was in 2017 at Local Motive. The next time they saw each other, Pete drove to Raleigh and stayed for the weekend while Katie showed him around. They both knew instantly they wanted to keep making this long distance relationship work. Three years later, Katie moved back to Florence to live with him and now they are getting married next year. When Pete decided to pop the question, he used their super cute dog as a way to surprise her. Katie said she remembers it was a Monday morning before work. They were looking for their dog’s favorite ball that she had lost. Katie said she was looking through all the rooms and under their bed. Just then, Pete walked in and said, “I found it.” As she turned around, there he was with a ring asking “will you marry me?” She was so excited and surprised! These two love to laugh together and at each other. They both love animals and appreciate that about one another. Katie says what she loves most about Pete is his generous and caring heart for others and how he shows everyone he meets respect. Pete says what he loves most about Katie is her compassion, ambition, and creativity. In their free time they like walking their dogs, hanging out with friends, eating good food, watching TV, and cheering on the Clemson tigers.
