7/7/2020 Update: Our wedding is still scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 5:30PM at the Backstage Event Center. Restrictions for banquet centers have been lifted so that all of our 100 invited guests can be accommodated for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner/reception with recommended social distancing. We ask that all guests wear facial coverings during the ceremony and reception, except when eating or drinking. All appetizers will be passed by wait staff, dinner will be served as a plated entree, and dessert will be served to each table after dinner. We will be able to have an open bar and dance floor, but ask that all guests please respect the personal space of others. We are asking for all RSVPs to be completed on this website by July 25, 2020. 7/7/2020 Update: Yes, facial coverings will be required for all guests during the ceremony and reception, except for when eating and drinking. We will be providing disposable facial coverings to everyone who does not bring their own. We will also be providing hand sanitizer. ****In addition to facial coverings, we will be providing wrist bands to let people communicate their preference on social distancing. Red wrist bands will be for those who want to maintain their distance, yellow will be for those who are okay talking and mingling with guests, but don't want to be touched (handshakes/hugs/etc.), and green will be for those who are okay with mingling and handshakes/hugs****
As much as we love the children of our friends and family members, we will be having an adults-only event.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30PM, and the venue opens at 5:00PM. We ask that all guests arrive by 5:15PM to get settled before the ceremony begins.
There is no dedicated parking at the Backstage Event Center. If you are staying at a local hotel, we recommend utilizing your hotel's parking and walking or taking a cab to the venue. If you are driving in for the wedding and not staying downtown or prefer to drive yourself, there are several surface lots, parking garages, and valet services available downtown. ABM Parking lots are located on the corner of 8th and Walnut (3 minute walk) and 7th and Main (3 minute walk). The Allpro parking lot is located at the corner of 7th and Vine (6 minute walk). The Fountain Square garage is located on Walnut between 4th and 5th Streets (5 minute walk). There are also several city valet stands marked in yellow near the venue that you can use, just be cognizant of when the valet stands close for the evening.
No! We ask that guests dress in business casual or cocktail party attire, but your presence is more important than your outfit!
