Getting to The Coast

you can either fly directly into Naples (the closest airport to Amalfi) or you can fly into Rome and travel to Amalfi from here.

Flight

Capodichino International Airport

From Naples Airport Closest Airport to the Venue: Capodichino International Airport, Naples, Italy For a hassle-free experience, we recommend traveling directly from Naples Airport to Amalfi via taxi or private car. This option ensures a seamless journey with minimal planning. Alternatively, you can travel from Naples Airport by train. To do so, you’ll need to take a cab from Naples Airport to Naples Centrale Train Station to catch the train. However, keep in mind that the train only goes as far as Sorrento. From there, you’ll need to arrange another cab or private car transfer to Amalfi. Given the additional steps involved, we suggest opting for a car—whether taxi or private transfer—for convenience. If you're traveling with a group, this option is often more economical as well.

Flight

Rome-Fiumicino "Leonardo Da Vinci" Airport. Rome, Italy.

The nearest airport with direct flights from the U.S. is Rome-Fiumicino "Leonardo Da Vinci" Airport in Rome, Italy. Flying into Rome is the most budget-friendly option for reaching the Amalfi Coast. For the most direct journey, consider booking a private car transfer—ideal for groups comfortable with a longer drive. Alternatively, we recommend taking the train, a convenient and popular choice for most travelers.

Travel Note

traveling from Rome:

private transfer vs. train

Train

travel by train

Termini to Napoli Centrale (tickets can be purchased in advance from the Trenitalia website linked below). Tickets for the fast train are around 45 Euro per person if booked in advance and the journey takes 1 ¼ hours.

Rental Car

private transfer

This is most definitely the easiest, most comfortable and direct way to travel from Rome to the Amalfi Coast, especially with luggage. The journey is about 3 ½ hours and costs approx. Euro 500 (up to 3 PAX), Euro 650 (Up to 7 PAX). Rates may change based on availability.

Travel Note

once you are in Naples:

private transfer vs. public transport

Travel Note

private transfer to Amalfi

The journey is roughly 75 minutes. Up to 3 PAX, Euro 145-160 depending on arrival time (early morning, late night have a supplement). Minivan up to 7 PAX, Euro 200 depending on arrival time (early morning, late night have a supplement). If you would like to book a transfer, please provide Love Story Events with your train/flight times once booked. We suggest this method for a stress free experience.

Travel Note

public transport

There are two options: -catch a direct bus to Amalfi - It takes longer than a regular transfer because it makes multiple stops on the way. PINTOUR: https://www.pintourbus.com/en/napoli-amalfi-transfer/ -catch a train from Naples Central Station (Napoli Centrale) to Salerno - Train tickets cost between €15 per person. Prices may change based on availability.

Travel Note

from Salerno:

From Salerno, you can either: Bus to Amalfi - The bus stop in Salerno is immediately outside when exiting from the Train station. Make sure you buy your ticket at a Tabacchi before boarding (marked by a big ‘T’) or download the app "Unico Campania". Tickets are not available for purchase on board. It is important that you stamp/validate your tickets as you get on the bus. Regular controls are carried out, and non-validated ticket holders will receive a fine. - Buses depart approximately every hour and stop in the centre of Amalfi. The journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes. Ferry to Amalfi - (€15 per ticket, approx. 30 mins)** to Amalfi. You will need to walk to the port from the Train Station. Walk out of the main station exit and walk straight across the roundabout towards the sea front. Once you get to the sea front, cross the main road and you should start to see signs for the Marina and Travelmar. It is a 5 minute walk. **Prices for 2025 are not ready yet, this is based on 2024. - Please note ferries don’t run in rough seas or bad weather. Most ferry services do have a ‘luggage fee’ for those travelling with large bags.

Where to Stay

Deciding between Amalfi, Ravello, and Atrani comes down to your personal preferences and the kind of experience you're seeking. Amalfi and Ravello are about 20-25 minutes apart, each boasting its own unique charm, stunning views, and unforgettable moments on the Amalfi Coast. Atrani is a charming, small coastal town on Italy's Amalfi Coast, located just a short walk or drive from Amalfi, its larger and more famous neighbor. Atrani boasts a quieter and more intimate atmosphere compared to Amalfi, making it a serene escape from the busier tourist hubs.In relation to Ravello, Atrani serves as the coastal complement to Ravello's hillside perch. While Ravello offers stunning views and a more elevated, cultural experience with its historic villas and gardens, Atrani provides access to the sea and embodies the essence of a traditional Italian coastal town. Our wedding "weekend" will take place mainly in Amalfi however our welcome party will be hosted in Atrani, so you will get to experience the best of both no matter where you choose to stay. With that, we recommend reading the descriptions below and picking the town / accommodations that best suit your preferences and needs.
