Katherine and Mitchell met unexpectedly in San Diego at a karaoke bar called Lamplighter in March of 2023, and immediately felt the spark of something special. Over the next year and a half, they spent their free time battling the LA traffic, taking turns driving back and forth between Ventura and San Diego to see each other. In November 2024, when they both found ten days to spend together, they took a road trip to visit wineries, a National Park, Monterey, and Big Sur. Mitchell took the opportunity to propose while hiking, one of their favorite activities, in Big Sur on the day after Thanksgiving. Thankfully, she said yes! Soon after, they decided to tie the knot on Tax Day 2025 in Yosemite National Park, also known as the "Cathedral of Stone". With only ten people in attendance, and Katherine's childhood friend as the officiant, they were blessed with perfect weather and the beautiful backdrop of Yosemite Falls while they said, "I do"!
