We're getting married!

Katherine and Layne met when Layne started working at Aggieland Safari in October 2022, where Katherine had already been working since that summer. Their shifts seldom overlapped at first, but that changed when Katherine's class schedule switched the next semester. As Katherine and Layne began to spend more time together at work, they quickly formed a bond built on their shared love of animals, an almost uncannily compatible sense of humor, and a constant competition to see who could tease the other the most on company time (spoiler alert: Katherine usually won). After some not-so-subtle nudging, perchance scheming even, by multiple co-workers who were tired of the slow burn, Layne and Katherine began dating in late August of 2023. Side note: if you want to start a lengthy debate between the couple, just ask them who made the first move! (This is Layne writing this, so I'm just going to set the record straight– it was definitely me.) After Katherine and Layne started dating, it didn't take either of the lovebirds very long to know that they had found their forever in each other. Katherine's balance of organization and whimsy perfectly complement Layne's spontaneous but often scatter-brained nature, while Layne's ability to stay calm and steady through life's rollercoaster moments helps to keep Katherine centered when the stress of work, school, or just life in general gets overwhelming. Over the past two and a half years, Katherine and Layne have become an inseparable duo joined together by their love and devotion to one another. Their journey eventually culminated in an early morning scavenger hunt on the beach ending with a sunrise proposal from Layne on March 29, 2025. Obviously, Katherine said yes, and the wedding planning began! As you're reading this now, we are only a few months away from Katherine and Layne's big day! The couple wants everyone to know how excited they are to welcome all of their favorite people to Peach Creek Ranch in College Station on May 22, 2026 to celebrate embarking on the next chapter of their lives together.
