Our story technically started way before we were even a “thing.” We first met as kids at Kyle’s Aunt Casper’s wedding, where I was the flower girl and he was also there. Funny enough, Casper also set up my parents back in the day (she really has a track record). Fast forward to high school, we tried to reconnect… and it was, well, clearly not our moment. It wasn’t until the summer before senior year, on our annual Chicago trip with our families, that things finally worked out. I randomly suggested inviting Kyle and somehow, he actually came. After that trip, we stayed in touch, and by August he asked me to be his girlfriend. So naturally, we started senior year doing long distance. Then COVID hit, and for once, distance actually got easier. We spent more time going back and forth and figuring things out together. When college decisions came around, we both ended up at the University of Iowa… and somehow landed in the same dorm...on the same floor...literally down the hall from each other. After graduation, we did distance again (not our favorite), until I finally convinced Kyle to move to Kenosha (he’ll say I forced him, I’ll say it was a great idea). We got our first apartment together with our amazing cat, Snowball. Then came the proposal. After months of me thinking “this is it,” every time we left the house, he finally did it when I had no idea it was coming. Just the two of us by the water in Kenosha, and somehow, perfectly timed with a little rain to make it feel like a movie. Now we’re deep into wedding planning and house hunting, and we couldn’t be more excited. Thanks for being part of our story and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
