We met in August 2022 after connecting online. Kurt initially suggested coffee, but after discovering that the coffee shop was closed, we made a last-minute pivot to a local Mexican restaurant, a tradition of last-second changes that would become a trademark of the relationship (in a good way)! From that first date we hit it off, and we continued to date throughout the fall and winter of 2022. Kurt learned about Katherine’s extensive Disney knowledge, her love of all things ocean, and her passion (obsession?) for Mickey ears. Katherine learned about Kurt’s dumb jokes (and his unapologetic devotion to them), his love of all things aviation, and his passion (obsession?) for Indiana Jones/Star Wars merch and lore. We both shared an admiration for everything Disney, and this became one of our strongest bonds. We’ve made many, many trips to Disneyland together, and we’ve shared some unique experiences at various Disney destinations, such as Disney World in Florida, and the Aulani resort in Hawaii. In 2023 we officially moved in together, and we’ve had some amazing life moments ever since. From Mickey waffle breakfasts to movie nights on the pull-out couch, our shared experiences have been wonderful. We both knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other, and in November of 2024, we became engaged on the platform of Disneyland’s Main Street Station. It’s been an incredible journey learning, living, and loving together, and we’re looking forward to many, many more years to come. We are incredibly grateful for the family and friends who have been a part of our journey thus far, and we hope that you will be able to celebrate with us in 2026!
