Good 'ole Marching Band. Katherine was a section leader who played flute and Kristian played clarinet. Kristian thought Katherine was too nice and weird but the two became friends anyway. Fast forward to Katherine coming out to Kristian who in turn told Katherine she was going to hell for being gay. They fell out of friendship for a year or so but later met up again to get bubble tea. This renewed friendship led to Kristian visiting Katherine at her dorm at Clemson University to go on their first date (that Katherine didn't know was a date) and the rest is history!

Kristian proposed to Katherine in view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Romantic right? In actuality, it was cold, raining, the happy couple was covered in spilled beer, and Katherine bawled like a baby.
