forever and always

We met at a benefit motorcycle ride for one of Gage's previous coworkers who had just been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer. Gage just had sworn off girls and I was in a not-so-serious situationship. Throughout the ride, I kept noticing Gage. He would block traffic in busy intersections to make sure we all made it through safely. He rode standing up on his bike in the ditch checking in on people to make sure we were all okay. He really stood out in the crowd. I thought to myself, "Wow, what a sweet, thoughtful guy that is". Ha, little did I know... Later that day, everyone from the ride met up at a local Cedar Rapids bar, The Chrome Horse. I kept making eye contact with Gage. In a large group, I ended up standing next to him and we started chatting and he says, "You have the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen". From that moment, I felt the strongest, most natural connection I have ever had with someone. A few days later, we were both invited to a Halloween party at my neighbors house (we knew a mutual person). Gage and I were separately invited to pregame the Halloween party, but it turns out, we were the only two showed up to the pregame. We got to talking about our favorite music and bands we liked. We hung around each other throughout the entire night. We both really hated the crowd we were surrounded by and decided to leave the party and hang out at my apartment across the hall for the rest of the night. I made him my famous grilled cheese and the rest is history :)
