Officiant
Sidney Shaw is a longtime friend of the Bride, reiki practitioner, tarot reader, and energy healer. She makes magic and waves wherever life leads her-- and will be co-leading the small ceremony ritual for The Okojies. As a powerful mother and witch, she harnesses the power of our Earth and manifests with intention and integrity.
Officiant
Rev. Masando Hiraoka is a longtime ministerial friend of the Bride, an ordained Centers for Spiritual Living minister and all around good human. He’s an accomplished author, speaker, and craft beer connoisseur who received his bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies at CU Boulder. Be ready for some meditation, social justice, and probably a joke or two because this Enneagram 3 knows how to co-lead sacred ceremonies and have a blast while doing it!
Best Man
Sean Viola has been the Groom's best friend since the first grade at Faith Baptist Schools. Not only is he the best man-- he is the best kind of man. One who shows love through kindness and vulnerability, and who always shows up when you need him. In their teenage years, the Groom half-jokingly told Sean that he would be the Best Man at all of his friend's weddings, because he's that good of a friend. Proving him right, Sean will be in attendance on October 9th!
Matron of Honor
Hailing from Queens, New York, Isabel has been friends with the Bride since the first day of grad school at Union Theological Seminary. Isabel is who you want next to you if you're ritualizing, singing, or plotting the death of this cishet, white supremacist, patriarchal country we call home, so, of course, she's Matron of Honor. Hopefully she'll bring her badass partner, Dani, and brand new human on the planet, Lyric, to make magic with us in the Mile High City!
Daughter of the Bride & Groom
At 7 years old, Otis is already a passionate artist, astrologer, and activist! As our resident crystal expert, they approve of the rings and are looking forward to a wedding in nature. Otis enjoyed planning and participating in the Groom's proposal and can't wait to dance the Macarena on October 9th!
