Katherine and Cole went to high school together, although they most certainly did not run with the same crowds. Katherine would go as far as to say that Cole did not even know she existed, even though we all know that is NOT true. In the summer of 2018, Katherine added Cole as a friend on a social media app, Snapchat. A few months later, Cole asked Katherine on their first date over that same app. Katherine and Cole's first date was on September 8, 2018. Katherine was so nervous she made her mother answer the door when Cole arrived. They went to Moe's for dinner (still their favorite go-to date night dinner joint), Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze (where Katherine's hair grew 3x the size due to humidity and Cole tried to not sweat through all of the clothes he was wearing), and ended the night with dessert at the local DQ. When Cole drove Katherine home and walked her to the front door, she turned her head and gave him the cheek when he tried to give her a goodnight kiss! Katherine told her mother THAT NIGHT that she was going to marry Cole. Cole officially asked Katherine to be his girlfriend during her next visit to Athens, where Cole was going to school (go Dawgs). On their second annual beach trip to Fort Walton Beach, Cole asked Katherine to be his wife during beach photos. Katherine was TOTALLY surprised (NOT) and said yes! Cole felt the same nervousness that Katherine must've felt right before their first date, but let the record show that Cole did not cry in this joyful moment. Now here we are, awaiting October 14, 2022. We cannot wait to celebrate with each of our friends and family members. We certainly hope you can be a part of our special day, but more importantly a part of our forever. Here's to Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
