When Chris and I first met, my immediate reaction was: absolutely not. Truly — a firm, confident, zero-hesitation nope. We worked together at the gym, and his overconfidence mixed with that too-casual “I’ve got this” attitude had me rolling my eyes so hard. He became one of my least favorite coworkers in record time. What I didn’t know then was that Chris had actually gotten the job at the gym because he saw me working there and thought, “Yep. She’s it.” (Annoying, I know. Romantic, unfortunately also yes.) Then one day, out of nowhere, he challenged me to a leg day workout. And if you know me, you know that saying no to a challenge is simply not in my personality. So off we went. And from that very first session, he started doing what he does best: sneaking his way into my life with charm, banter, and a confidence I pretended not to find endearing. The playful teasing. The sauna chats. The post-lift breakfasts that I tried very hard not to smile through… All of it brought us right here. Chris decided from the moment he saw me that we were meant to be. And while I usually only let him be right once a day, I’ll give him this one — for the rest of our lives. 🤍
