Our classic love story started in a very modern way. Oh, the joys of the 2020's and dating apps... I (Kat) had just downloaded Hinge and was lucky enough to have Casey as my very first match on the app. He got my attention immediately by sending me a message asking me how I was liking being new to town and how my back was doing. I had just had back surgery and moved to Mount Vernon... neither of these facts were listed on my profile so I was very confused and wondering how this stranger knew so many personal details about me. It turns out we had chatted on another dating app about a year prior and I didn't remember this at all... now he loves to give me a hard time about how I "ghosted him at first" and why that means he actually loves me more, but of course I disagree. It almost felt like us matching again was kismet. We actually lived in the same area this time and setting up a date was much easier without a 3-hour drive separating us like when we had first chatted. The timing just felt so right. Our first date was at Lorenzo's in Sedro-Woolley. I baked him sugar cookies for Christmas and brought them to our date. We had such a good time getting to know each other over tacos and bottomless chips and salsa that by the time the cheque came we didn't want the night to end. Casey had mentioned going to see some Christmas lights and I didn't get the vibe he was going to crazy murder me, so we got into his truck and drove down to Tulalip to walk around the lights and well, I guess the rest is sort of history :)
