During our college years, we met at a party in our friend’s backyard. I was cooking a chicken fettuccini, and he was not interested.... in the food at least! I now know why, after all of the really good cooking I’ve eaten lately! We quickly became great friends, bar going buddies, dancing partners, and monsters at 3 AM tearing up leftovers in his momma’s kitchen! There was something between us that we never discovered in order to protect our friendship. Eventually, we drifted away for some time and lost touch while we were both working out of state. In the summer of 2019, we rekindled our friendship and stopped fighting the feeling! We fell in love in that inground pool, with the cows running all around us!
I was asked to NOT wear my Christmas pajamas to the Norris Family Christmas! HA! Of course I was more than happy to get dressed up so Cameron and I could take some pictures in front of the Christmas tree. His mom, Tonya, had been wanting to get some updated photos of the kids. Even though his sister was in loungewear, I didn’t catch on. Tonya takes a couple of Cameron and I, and of course I leap forward to snatch the phone from her to approve photos. Although I liked them, I went to stand back by Cameron so we could take a few more, just in case, and what do I see? This sweet man of mine, down on one knee, asking me by my full name to be his always and forever!!! He knew I would be distracted looking at photos, so he could be able to slide out that Neil Lane ring box from under the tree and make his move! Surprised and full of joy, I said yes to his intimate and beautiful gesture! So here’s to “have and to hold, to love and to cherish” and to our always and forever!
