On January 7th, 2017, Kat & Cal each decided to brave the cold and see some live music in East Nashville. Kat happened to be wearing a big felt hat and was ready to leave Basement East to check out a new DJ duo called Sparkle City that was playing at 308. She walked by Cal and he stopped her saying, "Hey, I like your hat". Kat replied, " You're cute, come disco with us". From that moment, there was an undeniable connection between the two and so much chemistry on the dance floor. Their friendship grew over the next few months as they eased into getting to know each other, and they made it to nearly every Sparkle City that year. Last Fall, Cal proposed in Destin and Kat said "Yes!". Since Destin has always been a special place for each of their families and where they got engaged, it seemed like a natural fit to tie the knot on the Emerald Coast.
