We met in the summer of 2022. Our first date was at a coffee shop in Clintonville, although it could've happened accidentally at the climbing gym- we just didn't know we both climbed there! After a three-hour first date that ended in a rainy downpour and awkwardly running to our cars, we decided to go on a second date—and then a third. On that third date, we found ourselves at Land Grant Brewery near downtown Columbus, playing cornhole. That’s when both of our competitive sides came out in full force. Despite being crushed in cornhole and the epic trash-talking that ensued, there were several heartfelt moments where we glimpsed each other's characters: Katherine was kind, honest, and driven, and Andrea was sincere, hilarious, and a gentle soul. In December 2023, we found that moving in together (despite one disagreement about how much 'stuff' was too much) went so smoothly that we couldn't imagine living any other way than in our rickety upstairs duplex, together. We’ve spent the last couple of years laughing, going on climbing/camping trips, playing cornhole (and a lot of other board games), managing the introduction of our three collective cats, and, of course, Andrea having to explain her sarcasm more times than we could count.
