It’s one of the Seven World Wonders for a reason. We recommend going at night for the light show. Forewarning- while Buffalo isn’t necessarily a busy city, it likely will be crowded as it is the areas largest tourist destination.
We love a good art museum, the AKG has recently been renovated and its architecture does not disappoint. If it’s in your wheelhouse, check it out! Fun fact, admission is free on the first Friday of every month.
In the heart of the East Aurora Village you can catch a burger and glass of wine here among the quaint restaurants and shops. It’s so quaint, Hallmark decided to film a Buffalo Bills holiday movie in the EA Village this year! Check out the area, get a s’mores bar at the cafe next door and see if you can recognize anything when the movie comes out this holiday season.
Beacon Grille may be relatively new to the Allentown scene, but anyone who has been there knows it is now integral to the Buffalo food culture. With an inviting ambiance and outstanding owners, the restaurant offers an artisanal selection of food and drinks- if you go after the wedding, you may even see a few familiar faces!
A bit of a ways farther from the venue, but worth mentioning. The Elmwood Village in the city of Buffalo is a staple in our lives. It hosts cozy cafes, lively bars, great restaurants, boutiques and art shops, a farmers market every Saturday, and many of our sweet memories.
The Botanical Gardens is near and dear to our hearts- it has hosted many special moments including the phone call saying “we got the house”, a wedding of some of our very best friends and it was nearly our wedding venue as well!
While the Anchor Bar might be known for inventing the chicken wing, Bar Bill Tavern may have perfected it.
