Considering the uncertainty arising from the ongoing pandemic and to ensure the wellbeing of our loved ones, we have made the difficult decision to abbreviate our wedding ceremony to include our immediate family and bridal party and cancel the reception. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our intended guests. We will be married this year in an intimate ceremony and look forward to celebrating with everyone in the future.
If you would like to join us virtually on our big day, tune in to ap.church/livestream on January 8th, 2021 at 6:00pm to watch the ceremony!
Parker and Katherine met in The Woodlands High School band. They both played the trombone. While on a band trip in Indianapolis, Indiana and with a box of cookies that spelt out "Girlfriend?", Parker asked Katherine to be his girlfriend on 11/11/2011. (Katherine thinks he was looking for an easy date to remember!) The rest is history.
One Saturday morning, Parker and Katherine decided to go on a walk. However, instead of walking in Hermann Park like they normally would, Parker suggested that they walk around the Rice University campus. Parker and Katherine parked at the volleyball courts where they would frequently play with friends, and they began their walk. Parker pretended he had never ventured out to the other side of the Rice campus, but as Katherine would later find out, he had! Parker acted like he was leading Katherine on a casual walk, but he was really leading Katherine to a spot he had staked out the night before with the help of their good friends, Andrew and Emily Starkweather. Parker and Katherine rounded the corner behind the Rice Business building and came upon a table that Parker had set up with old pictures, orchids (thanks to COVID-19 resulting in a flower shortage), music by Cody Johnson, and a cookie cake that said "Will you marry me?". After eight years of dating and becoming each others' best friends, Katherine had the obvious answer of "YES!"
Thank you to our parents, family, and friends who have supported us throughout the years. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
