August 11, 2014 was the first day of my Freshman year, Noah's Sophomore year, and we shared our first period together. It wasn't some magical moment, we didn't even talk until the second week of school. However, between group projects and Noah rushing to copy off of my homework before he had to turn it in, we became close with one another. Unfortunately, Noah left to be home schooled after that year ended and it wasn't until a year and a half later that we reconnected and started dating.
November 30, 2019 is a day that had an unexpected plot twist. Noah and I had plans to go to his brother and sister-in-law's house to watch Disney+ during the morning/afternoon, go out to dinner later in the evening, and end the night drinking hot chocolate while driving around looking at Christmas lights together. Benson and Tori, Noah’s brother and sister-in-law, were in charge of distracting me. After watching movies and TV shows all morning and most of the afternoon Noah made up the excuse of "going home to feed our dog" in order to go get everything ready. After getting ready we hopped in the car to go pick Noah up. In the car Benson and Tori asked me different questions to distract me while Benson "accidentally" took a couple of wrong turns and we ended up at my old elementary school. As soon as we stopped Benson pulled out a note from Noah and told me to read it. The note explained the significance of Castle Elementary School and when we went there one night to play basketball it was the night he knew he loved me. The note went on to say that after two more stops I would understand what was happening. At the second stop, the overlook in Newburgh, I was given another note that again explained the significance of that stop. The overlook is where Noah and I got a citation from a police officer one night for hammocking at night. In the note Noah explained how that night he realized I was his partner in crime and I was who he wanted to marry. He said there was a surprise at the last stop. At the third stop, the Newburgh riverfront, I was given the last letter that talked about all of our memories at the riverfront. How we had spent endless hours there talking about our dreams for the future, sharing childhood stories, and sometimes crying when life was hard. The note told me to follow Benson and Tori, they led me out of the car and I saw Noah walking towards us. I think you can guess what happened next.
