Hyde Park Village

1602 West Snow Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606
, (813) 251-3500

Walk, bike or scooter over to the Hyde Park Village for some shopping, dining and drinking. We love biking here on the weekends. Our first date was at the Irish 31 Pub, located in Hyde Park.

Armature Works

1910 North Ola Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602
, (813) 250-3725

One of our favorites, Armature works is a chic food hall we love to bike to on the north edge of downtown!

Historic Ybor

Tampa, FL

Ybor City (pronounced E-BORE) is a historic suburb of Tampa, just outside of downtown. Known for its Cuban heritage, it is a vibrant cultural center for Cuban Americans. Eat at the famous Columbia Restaurant, pick up an authentic Cuban cigar, or stroll around Centro Ybor where Tampa Bay Brewing Company is located as well as the Tampa Improv. Watch out for the Roosters, they are infamous for roaming free around the city!

TECO Line Streetcar System

603-611 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602
, (813) 254-4278

The Teco Streetcar is a free and fun mode of transportation to explore downtown Tampa and Historic Ybor City (pronounced E-BORE). Catch the Streetcar at stop #10, which is located right across the street from the Tampa Marriott Water Street and hop on and off at any of the 11 stops. We recommend taking it to stop #2 and exploring Ybor City.

Tampa Riverwalk and Bayshore Boulevard

Tampa Riverwalk, Tampa, FL 33602

This is a 2.6 mile pedestrian trail along the Hillsborough River. Remember, they dye the river green on St. Patrick's day! Continue your walk over the Platt Street Bridge to Bayshore Boulevard. A lovely walk along the water and views of Tampa's beautiful architecture. We just bought our first place together on Bayshore Boulevard, can you guess which one is ours!

Water Street

Water Street, Tampa, FL 33602

Water street is full of new restaurants, bars and shops for guests to check out! There is also a local market on 3/19/23 along Water Street. The street is blocked off and full of local vendors, food, art, and entertainment.

Pirate Water Taxi

333 South Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602
, (813) 223-7999

The Pirate Water Taxi follows the Tampa River Walk and is a great Florida twist to getting around downtown!

Sparkman Wharf

615 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602
, (813) 618-5844

Come here to enjoy a beer, live music, bowling, shopping, and shipping container food trucks with some views of the water. We love going here on a Saturday afternoon.

The Florida Aquarium

701 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602
, (813) 273-4000

Rated among one of the best aquariums in the US.

Restaurant Recommendations

All located within walking distance or a quick uber/drive from downtown. We do recommend calling ahead or making reservations for most of these. Irish 31 (Our favorite place to watch the Bucs win Superbowl LV! And where we had our first date!) Ulele (We love bringing visitors here) Oxford Exchange (Great for bougie breakfast or brunch) On Swann (Located in Hyde Park. Nice swanky dinner) Bella's Italian Cafe (The Sampson's favorite Italian place) Bartaco (Go for the margaritas and pork belly tacos) M.Bird (Great rooftop cocktails and tapas) Columbia Restaurant (Both the original in Ybor and the Café downtown have great authentic Cuban food)
